Fantastic and authentic Mexican style hotel right on the beach! The staff are incredibly friendly and they do everything they can to make your stay wonderful. I was extremely comfortable in our beds as they are on the firmer side, and the extra blankets were nice when the A/C got a little too cold. We could have turned it off most nights, but we were to exhausted lol. The breakfast was great, the lite breakfast is a simple offering of toasted bread, fruit, oj, and coffee. They offer a buffet and ala carte menu that is very affordable. It was lovely to have a pool and direct access to the beach. And the VIEW IS OUT OF THIS WORLD! Location is absolutely perfect as you can easy walk to most areas and there are tons of local vendors just out the doors with delicious offerings at an extremely affordable rate. The sound of the ocean is heard throughout the hotel, and it's very relaxing. We barely heard our neighbors (and it was extremely busy with families), and again the VIEW! I also couldn't believe the beautiful chocolate cake, flowers, and very kind note prepared for our 10th anniversary! I offered to pay extra for it, but they told me it was a gift for us. Safety is 10/10 as there's alway a security person on site. I am truly grateful to have experienced this beautiful family owned hotel! I'd definitely encourage you to book your stay here, it was the perfect place to discover Puerto Vallarta. Thank you from a very grateful and impressed guest to the entire team of Hotel El Pescador! We'll be back to see you again soon!

A continental breakfast was included and then we found out half way through our stay that we could use our breakfast coupon towards a more substantial breakfast. We wish we had known that sooner. We liked that we were so close to the Malecon and many restaurants. A grocery store was just a block away, and having a refrigerator, we could buy some provisions. The staff were exceptional. Very friendly. The pool area was quite nice. We had stayed at Hotel Rosita the last time we were in PVR, but they were fully booked. El Pescador is Rosita's sister hotel, and we actually liked it better- a quieter area.

The breakfast provided was not adequate. The location was great. The hotel was very nice. Gorgeous view, nice beach. Our only complaint was that there was no control over who had access to the lounge chairs around the pool. By early morning all the chairs were already 'claimed' by guest who placed their towels on the chairs....often not even using the chairs until early afternoon. We found the lack of control of use to be really irritating and, frankly, extremely rude by other hotel guests who were preventing access for many hour of the day.

The breakfest was ok. A continental breaky is included in the price but that only includes a few pieces of bread, 3 or so pieces of fruit a glass of juice and a coffee (or tea). If you pay 99 peso you can have the buffet. Fairly bland scrambled eggs, a nacho dish (can't recall the name right now), beans and fruit. Also pancakes and french toast. These were both pretty good. Coffee was nice and hot. Basically an adequate breaky.

View and the pounding surf are excellent. It's wonderful to fall asleep and wake up to the peaceful sound. Cleaning staff are very hard working and do their jobs well. Many fabulous restaurants and cafes nearby. Fridge in view rooms only. Extra blankets and pillows in closet. Drinking water is available in 20L bottles on each floor.
